My name is Yolo Ngcakani. I am an independent photographer based in South Africa, working primarily in KwaZulu-Natal, with travel available by arrangement.
Alongside my work as a software developer and my studies in neuroscience, photography is a practice I approach with care and discipline. It is a space where technical understanding, patience, and attention to detail come together, and where I take the time to observe before pressing the shutter.
I photograph families, corporate and personal events, sports fixtures, and rental properties. My approach is considered and unobtrusive, shaped by an awareness of timing, light, and context. Rather than directing heavily, I focus on allowing moments to unfold naturally and capturing them with clarity and consistency.

can we expect the
photographs?
Turnaround time depends on the size of the shoot. Most sessions are delivered within 7–14 days. Larger or commercial projects may take slightly longer, and this is discussed upfront.

many photos can we
expect?
The number varies by session. I focus on delivering a clean, well-curated set rather than hundreds of near-duplicates.
Are you a full-time studio
photographer?
No — photography is something I pursue seriously, but with freedom. I don’t operate from a fixed studio and prefer working on location.
Do
you offer video?
My primary focus is photography. Short video clips or simple compilations may be possible for certain projects, depending on scope.
Do you travel?
Yes. I’m based in KwaZulu-Natal and happy to travel by arrangement. Travel details are discussed beforehand so there are no surprises?
